The first national conference for reviewers was held in conjunction
with the NMC and Healthcare Inspectorate Wales, on 21st. September
2007 at the Manchester Conference Centre. This event was a great
success and well attended, 55 percent of HLSP reviewers
participated. The conference informed reviewers of the achievements
of the first year, presented the Standards for Learning and
Assessment in Practice and outlined the approach to monitoring in
2007-2008. Participative workshops, were also held to enhance
specific skills. These addressed the development needs identified
by reviewers and HLSP. Reviewers evaluated the conference very
positively and welcomed the announcement of a risk based approach
to monitoring.
