In-service training for GPs in Georgia
Health systems in Europe are undergoing a period of immense and
rapid change. The break up of the Soviet Union, post-conflict
restructuring and enlargement of the European Union are just some
of the contributing factors to this environment of transition. In
many countries, the whole health system is undergoing reform to
ensure alignment with EU standards.
Our work in health systems takes into account local
context.
HLSP recognises that there is immense diversity within the EU, the
accession countries and beyond. Our work in the region is tailored
to address the individual needs of countries, as well as agency
priorities, such as helping to meet the Strategy of the WHO
Regional Office for Europe: Matching Services to Needs, 2000. HLSP
works on the development of health policy and services for
countries in the South Eastern Europe Health Network, as well as
elsewhere.
With an emphasis on growing our local presence, we work with
national and regional consultants, and partner with local firms who
complement our suite of skills.
Our expertise includes:
- Primary health care and family medicine
- Health financing including health insurance
- Public health care
- Capacity building
- Monitoring and evaluation
