Operational Research: Reproductive Health Initiative for Youth in Asia (RHIYA)
Region: South Asia; East Asia and Pacific
Country:
Client: UNFPA
Date: 2006-2007
HLSP conducted an evaluation of two key technical approaches (Youth Friendly Health Services and Peer Education) used by UNFPA in implementing the seven country Reproductive Health Initiative for Youth in Asia (RHIYA) programme. The evaluation was developed into publications providing guidance on the use of these approaches for policymakers and programme managers. The team also identified and analysed best practice developed under the RHIYA programme. In Cambodia, the best practice focused on the links the project made with different government ministries to develop adolescent guidelines on sexual and reproductive health.
