HLSP managed the Nizhny Novgorod/UK DFID Partnership Programme addressing HIV and AIDS, a £0.5m project aimed at enabling the local government to prioritise and mobilise a multisectoral response to HIV. HLSP was responsible for building the institutional capacity of the administration and strengthening the region’s multi-sectoral HIV response. The project facilitated collaboration with other partnership components and other projects in the field of HIV and AIDS. It also established Nizhny Novgorod as one of Russia’s leading regions in HIV prevention with the capacity to disseminate best practice throughout the sub-continent.
