Mongolia: Fourth Health Sector Development Project: Improving Sector Governance

A sixth month consultancy for the design of a project that will form the basis for drawing up an investment project under the Fourth Health Sector Development Project. The Asian Development Bank commissioned HLSP to begin work on a project design to strengthen the hospital sector and improve access to good quality medicines. Primarily working in Ulaanbaatar, a team of international and national consultants have built on previous health sector development initiatives to advance health reforms in line with the National Development Strategy and the Government’s Health Sector Master Plan (2006–2015). It is hoped that the project will set the stage for some major changes in the existing service mix and the system of secondary and tertiary care, as well as developing drug safety regimes.
