This was a short-term assignment designed to provide an overview of mechanisms and approaches used to harmonise and align donor support to the health sectors in a range of country contexts. In particular, the review focused on those where a sector wide approach was in place such as Africa (Mozambique, Ghana and Zambia) and Asia. The review drew important lessons and experiences from other sectors especially on mechanisms in place for coordination, harmonisation and alignment of donor efforts.
