Kenya: Developing Medium Term Procurement Plan and Shadow Budget

HLSP supported the development of a Medium-Term Procurement Plan (MTPP) for the Kenyan Ministry of Health (now the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation, and the Ministry of Medical Services). The aim of the MTPP was to help with the planning and budgeting for medical commodities and to link the cost of required commodities with available financial resources. HLSP also supported the formulation of the 2009/10-2011/12 shadow budget, which aimed to identify the funding available for the health sector, and determine the distribution and allocation of funds.
