The Iraq Clinical Training and Development Programme was designed to bring clinicians and policymakers to the UK to help them update their professional skills and enable them to become change agents in the rebuilding of the Iraqi health system.
HLSP arranged placements for 400 Iraqi doctors, nurses and policymakers in UK national service hospitals, enabling the clinicians to observe best practice. Our bespoke change management course helped the clinicians to define objectives, opportunities, challenges, threats and the skills needed to win support for change. Over 80% of change proposals developed on the programme are now being pursued in Iraq.
The programme was managed by HLSP with the Royal Medical Colleges, BMJ Learning and Triangle Consulting.
