HLSP is carrying out the monitoring and evaluation component of the project supporting the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (FIGO), which has over 100 member associations across Asia and Africa. The project aims to strengthen the capacity of member associations in 15 countries starting with Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Nigeria, Uganda, Nepal and India. A further set of seven countries will come on board in the fourth year of the project under the mentorship of phase one countries. This will build on lessons learnt and knowledge gained. Member associations will develop and deliver work plans tailored to their country situation. This will increase their effective contribution to policy and strategy formulation and to implementation of good practice in health facilities.
