HLSP and Cambridge Education, in association the Institute of Development Studies, are managing the DFID Human Development Resource Centre (HDRC). The HDRC provides consultancy and information services to DFID country offices and headquarters. Consultants supplement DFID expertise in all aspects of UK aid related to education and health, from improving quality of education to communicable disease control, nutrition to water and sanitation, reform of sector finances to choice of aid instruments; and cross-cutting themes such as gender and governance.
The range of consultancy products and services spans programme design, monitoring and evaluation; representing DFID in meetings; providing temporary advisers; drafting strategy documents, think pieces or 'how-to' notes; events management; and more. Information work includes a helpdesk for technical enquiries; a set of products helping advisers keep on top of the mountain of information they need; and help with audits of DFID's digital information services.
