Brazil: Strengthening Health Economics Capacity

This project promoted the use of health economics tools in policy formulation and implementation, with the aim of reducing inequalities in health financing and health outcomes in Brazil. It provided professional learning programmes and exchanges, and helped strengthen the health economics network. HLSP also supported the development of health economics curricula in academic and health courses. The project was conducted in two of the poorest states in North Eastern Brazil, Ceará and Bahia, and worked with the poorer communities of the municipalities of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
