Bangladesh Health Consortium Independent Review: a review of coordination arrangements in support of the next Health Sector Programme

HLSP reviewed the strengths and weaknesses of donor coordination arrangements developed during the Health, Nutrition and Population Sector Programme (HNPSP) 2005-2011. The areas assessed included their ability to share information effectively, to align and harmonise with government health plans and to engage in constructive policy dialogue.  

Interviews were conducted with most health partners and existing structures, processes and framework documents were reviewed. Options were then developed for improving coordination structures such as the Consortium and the Coordination Committee. Suggestions were also made for redrafting the Partnership Arrangements governing the relationships between the Government of Bangladesh and its health partners.
