HLSP conducted an appraisal of the Affordable Medicines Facility for Malaria technical design proposal. This included:
- an economic justification and impact appraisal
- a technical appraisal of the case for expanding access to artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) through public and private sectors
- an appraisal of the proposals for influencing the ACT market, including procurement arrangements and ensuring price reductions are passed on to end users
- comments on the emerging institutional and governance arrangements
- comments on the approach to managing risks and the M&E plans
