Health and Development Africa joins HLSP
23 July 2010
Welcome to Health and Development Africa (HDA), our new South African-based health specialists. Together, we will be able to provide a unique range of development services in Africa and beyond.
HDA provides technical assistance and project management across Southern and Eastern Africa. Its 45-strong team, headed by Dr Saul Johnson, includes clinicians, health economists and experts in health systems and aid finance.
HDA has a particular focus on HIV and AIDS and its impact on society. It manages the UNAIDS Technical Support Facility for Southern Africa and is engaged in developing training approaches and materials to support the caregivers of vulnerable children as part of USAID- and PEPFAR- funded projects.
HLSP and HDA have partnered over the years and are currently working together on the DFID-funded Strengthening South Africa’s Revitalised Response to AIDS and Health (SSARRAH) programme.
